I am looking forward to going to work today since they installed some refurbished used poweredge servers over the weekend. I along with the rest of the office could not take another week of our servers going down and losing all that money in commissions. Most of us did not even know how to take an order without our computers and four of the past five weeks, we have lost our servers for a day or two.

The management team went to the owner and explained why we needed the new servers and they came back with an approval for used servers. We all were not happy until they explained that the used poweredge servers that we would be putting in had been refurbished and they would run just like a new one but they had not cost the owner nearly as much as new ones would have.

We all cut out of work early on the Friday after the used poweredge servers arrived so that the computer team could switch everything over for the upcoming week. We had no problems with giving up some sales then knowing that we would be able to come back and do our jobs even better the next week.

When my boss told me that price that we had paid for the new servers, I wanted to scream. I had told him that he should check out some used hp servers before buying new ones but of course, new is always bigger and better to him. He could have saved about ten thousand dollars on the three servers had he just gone to the site that I told him about and bought four used proliant servers from them.

I had been asking for a raise for about six months and he always said that it just was not there to give. I am wondering where the twenty thousand dollars came from then that just paid for the servers. I have considered just sending the new servers back and ordering the used hp servers from the people that I told him about. I could very easily keep the money left over from the exchange and the purchase of the used proliant servers and there would be my raise for the entire year.

I think that I could even fool my boss into believing that the used servers were the ones that he purchased brand new. He would never go down to the basement to check them and the computer guys pretty much do whatever I say so this plan might actually work.

The wholesale company that we used to get our cleaning supplies from just moved their store to across town. I knew that their building was old and needed some work, but I never thought that they would just move to a new one. Most of those big places have the money to fix up their preexisting stores and they just make it inconvenient for the customers while they do it.

I have decided that it is just not feasible to send someone clear across town to pick up cleaning products every time that we are out. When they were just down the street, it was different but now, it is an hour trek there and back and it will just not work for our company.

I am thinking that an online cleaning supplies company may be a better way to go anyway and then everything will be delivered to our door and we will probably be saving money in the long run, besides all the time that it will take us now.

My new secretary is going to be in charge of finding us that new cleaning products company. She has only been here for two weeks and already, I can tell that she a real go getter and will find the best company online that there is.

The last thing that I want to do is tell the little old lady that runs the office supplies store that I do not need her to send me my monthly order but I have recently been made aware that her prices are much higher than many online discount office supplies companies. I have asked her if she can match any of their prices and she said that she just cannot do that since she does not order in bulk like they do, therefore cannot pass on those prices. If she price matched, she said that she would be out lots of money.

I know that she has been running the office supplies store for forty years now and is not planning on retiring for at least five years. I cannot see myself continuing to pay the high prices for five more years for the things that I know are priced so much lower with the discount office supplies companies.

I am thinking that if I slowly start to move my orders to the online sources, that maybe she will not notice that I need less and less from her. Maybe she will even think that I am going out of business or something too. This is the plan that I am going to try and use so that I do not have to tell her that I am switching to a new office supplies provider.

I hope most everyone has an idea of how important life insurance is and how it can protect your family and lighten the financial burden during a dark time. I would rather hire someone to come in and repair my used cisco products, then pay full price for them. I saw the prices that they are getting these days for new products and I have no idea who can actually afford to pay those, certainly not any of the offices that I work with.

Since the economy has taken such a hit in the past year, more and more companies are opting for buying used cisco parts instead of replacing them with new. I saw a study in a computer magazine last month that new computer part sales are down seventy percent and used are up by fifty percent. That would leave me to believe that the other twenty percent are unable to buy any used or new parts and just opt for the cisco repair man to repair it the best he can.

I would hope that our country gets back to the way things were, but that the big companies that will be able to afford the new parts, thinks twice before doing so. Recycling the things that we already have is the best way to become a greener country. I know that most people would like to do their part in helping this to happen.
